And we're walking...walking

Well I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday I have managed over 4 miles worth walking since Thursday Thursday walked a mile, Friday aover 2 miles, today another mile. My conditioning is improving and I'm feeling better everyday.

Over the hill.

Today's walk was a bit more of a challenge I walked the road beside my house which is up and down hills.

I'm proud of the fact that I walked for the third day in a row. I am well on my way to making this very heart healthy habit.

Today's walk was .7 tenths of a mile about 1400 and a 38 steps took me about 25 minutes the pace was a little slower simply because of the hills I'm guessing.

Today is gym day but there os a conflict of schedule I will not be able to go ; tonight is orientation for my daughters high school.

On another note I'm considering taking a martial art: jujitsu I am planning to go observe a class next tuesday and I'll make a final decision sometime within the next week or two.

Check in for 08/22/12

Went to the gym yesterday worked up about a hour and a half i did strength and cardio.

Started walking around the neighborhood yesterday. Walked again today took me about 30 minutes. It's a little over half a mile 1 time around.

Went to the doctor Monday. Everything worked out everything looks good blood pressures coming down glucose is coming down. I hope to lose 20-25 pounds by Oct. 20th the time of my next doctor's visit.

Health improving !

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday everything went well. Both blood pressure and blood glucose are coming down and normalizing.

Took a walk this morning almost a mile took me about 20 minutes. I plan on doing this every morning I want to get down to 250 pounds in 2 months time of my next doctor's visit.

Back at it!

Well I fell off the wagon due to a combo of laziness, depression and sickness. This literally put me in the hospital for two weeks with severe Deep Vein Thrombosis(DVT) in BOTH legs. Basically my legs had extensive blood clots that took 4 surgeries to remove.

So I am back on the wagon and back to the gym - I can not, must not, let this happen again! My goal is still to lose 50 lbs - this time by Dec. That will put me at 215lbs.

Still going strong!

I completed and tracked 3 cardio exercises and 6 strength exercises at - 30 minutes Upper Body Work Out, 300 calories burned, 30 minutes Lower Body Workout, 300 calories burned, 30 minutes Treadmill - 12 min/mile, 533 calories burned 

Down to 260lbs!!! 15lbs since the beginning of the year!!

I have set a new mini goal. 250 by March 30th.

I had another good day at the gym yesterday. It was day 4 as we took a break Friday and Sunday.I  completed and tracked 3 cardio exercises and 7 strength exercises at - 90 minutes Upper Body Work Out, 916 calories burned, 15 minutes Cycling 26-31 km/h (bicycling, biking, bike riding) , 409 calories burned, 20 minutes Treadmill - 4 min/km , 658 calories burned; Seated Leg Extension Machine, Alternating Dumbbell Biceps Curls, Boxer, Assisted Triceps Dip Machine, Preacher Curl Machine, Seated Chest Press Machine, Seated Row Machine

I am seeing more improvement in my shoulders. I am able to put on coat or shirt w/o assistance and I was able to put on a bookbag with very little pain.

Positive Improvement!

As I mentioned, We joined a local gym. Today is the third time we have gone and worked out and I am already noting improvement - in my joints.

My rotry cuffs and my right hip give me trouble in the form of pain and a loss in range of motion. However I am starting to see and feel some improvment. My rnage of motion has increased and the pain level has decreased.

I attribute this not only to the workouts but to the Glucosamin Chondroitin I take as well. I really am thrilled to see improvment in my joints and flexibility.

I may have already mentioned this, but I am seeing an improvement in my energy level as well, frankly I am amazed at the increase and the difference in energy I am experiencing.

Well no weight loss this week, no weight gain either! I have met my fitness goal of 30 minutes a day and have added a strength regimen.
I ate out Sat. and manged not to pig out!
I am astounded how much engery I have compared to this time last month! I actully feel better and dare I say it...HEALTHIER!

A New Year - A New Me

Well I don't know how but I have lost 20lbs and 4 inches off my waist - all on "accident" that is to say I didn't do it on purpose.
So I thought "Hmm If I can do this by accident, what can I do on 'purpose'?" So I have determined to lose 55lbs by June 1st. Since making this determination I have lost an additional 3lbs! See my YouTube vid for more information.
